Ekologiczne łuski babki jajowatej są wartościowe z uwagi na wysoką zawartość błonnika pokarmowego. W obecności wody uwalniają śluz i tworzą żel. Podczas spożywania łusek zalecane jest picie dużej ilości płynów.
